Petrol sales up 5%, diesel 1% in March
Petrol, diesel, jet fuel, and LPG sales in March 2024 grew at a slower pace compared to the full year, with petrol seeing a 5.3% rise and diesel at 0.9%. Full year growth for petrol was 7.3% and 2% for diesel. Jet fuel and LPG also showed moderated increases.

NHPC to begin investment in 750-MW pumped hydro storage project in Gujarat
NHPC will begin investment in the 750-MW Kuppa Pumped Storage Project in Gujarat during FY26, instead of FY25, with project work resuming soon. An agreement signed in March 2024 with GPCL involves an estimated investment of Rs 4,000 crore in the project.
Power consumption grows nearly 7% to 148.48 bn units in March
India’s power consumption increased by 7 percent in March 2025 compared to March 2024, due to higher temperatures. Peak power demand also saw a rise, reaching 235.22 GW. The summer is expected to bring further increases in power demand due to hotter-than-usual temperatures and more heatwave days according to the Meteorological Department.
US approves Holtec to build nuclear reactors in India, reviving Indo-US nuclear deal
