AERB approves Mahi Banswara site in Rajasthan to build four 700 MWe nuclear power plants

India’s nuclear regulator AERB has approved the construction of four 700MWe atomic power reactors at Mahi Banswara in Rajasthan, subject to compliance with specific conditions. The project, undertaken by Anushakti Vidyut Nigam, a joint venture between NPCIL and NTPC, involves indigenously developed Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors.
